The Daily Buddha - 1

“Freedom from lust is happiness in the world,

the going beyond all sensual desires.
But the crushing out of the conceit "I am"--
this is the highest happiness.”

Udana 2:11

Look at the breath, rising and falling, over and over.  All phenomena are just like this:

rising and falling, impermanent, unsubstantial, ever-emerging.  And when we know this

deeply, we will know that we, ourselves, are like this, too.  This is liberation. This is the highest happiness.  Practice like this.  Watch the breath like this.
